Anthracite grey roller garage door fitted to a modern house

Anthracite grey roller garage doors

Made to measure at our factory in Sunderland, on the 55mm or 77mm insulated aluminium profile. It’s one of our four standard colours, so it costs no more than any other.

Why choose anthracite grey?

A roller garage door in anthracite grey sits between black and white without looking like a compromise. It reads as modern rather than plain, works with almost any brick or render colour, and matches the grey and black uPVC windows, doors and fascias that have become standard on new build homes over the last decade.

Why it's everywhere on new builds

Anthracite roller doors are a fairly recent default. Aluminium window and door manufacturers pushed the shade hard through the 2010s, since it photographed well against both brick and render, and it stuck. Housebuilders picked it up for windows, composite front doors and fascias, and anthracite is now the colour most garages sit next to, whether the door matches or not.

That’s the practical case for choosing it here too. If your windows, guttering or front door are already anthracite grey, a garage door in the same shade won’t be the odd one out. It’s also a genuine middle ground: less stark than white, less heavy than black, and forgiving of most house styles.

RAL 7016, anthracite grey. A dark, slightly warm grey rather than a true black or a blue grey undertone.

Why consider an anthracite grey roller garage door?

Colour matching, maintenance, and availability at a glance.

This shade of grey works with red brick, buff brick, render in most shades, and timber cladding. It’s also the closest colour match if your windows, front door or fascias are already anthracite grey, now the standard trim colour across most new build estates.

The anthracite grey finish sits in the middle for heat and dirt. It takes on less heat from direct sun than black, and it hides mud, tyre marks and general grime better than white. Watermarks and dust show up less obviously than they do on black, since the mid tone doesn’t contrast as sharply.

This finish looks deliberate rather than default, without the starkness of white or the weight of black. It’s become the most requested colour for aluminium windows, doors and garage doors in the UK over the past decade, largely because it works with almost any brick, render or cladding without needing to match anything else exactly.

Available on both the 55mm insulated aluminium profile and the 77mm insulated aluminium profile. Included in the standard colour tier, so no colour premium on either profile.
